Dear Gameloft, How Could You Do This to Me?
This is my hand-written letter to the developers behind Disney Dreamlight Valley.
"Dear Gameloft,
What the crap? No, no, no, no... nononono; there must be a mistake. There is no way that upon opening my mailbox to check what cool rewards we got from the community challenge, I was greeted with sticks, stones, and flowers... all of which I have hundreds of already. There's just absolutely no way that you've disappointed an ex-Animal Crossing fan — it's impossible! My standards were so low... How could you fail me?
You cannot tell me with a straight face that I spent actual hours arranging and rearranging items and furniture to create a park in the Forest of Valor — which, by the way, used to be a glorious and magical forest before I tore it down — to get sticks. Sticks. Not even one furniture piece, a bit of premium currency, or a shirt. Sticks, stones, and flowers. I haven't been able to stop repeating that ever since I opened my mailbox.
I don't think you can understand the effort that some of us put into this. I learned how to use rocks to decorate, Gameloft; I went out of my way to hone my skills to really nail this event and truly deserve the "awesome" prizes at the end. A disappointment has tainted our first event as a Disney family — one I thought I'd left behind in my childhood and when I abandoned Animal Crossing.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention... the number of resources you gave me back as a "prize" for meeting the goals pale in comparison to the amount I used during my crazy attempts at making an awesome park!
You're lucky I don't send you a compilation of the dozen failed parks, a picture of my long-lost magical forest, AND THE LEFTOVER PIECES OF MY HEART.
Love,
Violet"
I'd like to finish this article by clarifying that I am joking! Whilst I definitely was disappointed at the crappy rewards for completing the community milestones, it was still an enjoyable challenge that helped me learn a ton of new tricks, and now I have a cool little Disney park for villagers to completely ignore! Hah... joking again. Totally.
