From PAC-MAN to Street Fighter: How Retro Videogames Have Been Immortalized Over the Years

Many of us used to love playing games such as PAC-MAN and Street Fighter II. Nowadays, games such as these are considered to be decidedly retro. They are, however, also seen to be very cool, despite aged graphics and ease of play. Perhaps it is these things that keep people coming back for more.

Some of the best retro games are now being turned into slot games. They’re not just being made available to those who played the games as children – a new generation is now experiencing them.

Kids and teenagers these days seem to look at the games we all played as children and consider them to be somewhat innocent. The games were a little less complicated yet hugely entertaining. Perhaps they are starkly different from those that are available these days.

The best slots

There are many modern slot machines in almost every casino in the country. The matter of the best slots may be somewhat subjective – each to their own certainly rings true here. What may be considered the best slot game ever by one person may rank 10th in another person’s list. However, the best slot sites are ranked here and they really do include some of the best. Some new, some classic, or shall we say “retro”?

Casinos everywhere are scrambling to add retro games that people will no doubt love. After all, you need to keep your customers happy. What better way to do this than by adding some slot machines that host retro games? Install them and the masses will come.

PAC-MAN

When PAC-MAN originally appeared back in 1980, the creators probably had no idea how iconic the game would become. This maze arcade game was an instant success. Thanks to a coin-operated machine, players could easily control PAC-MAN around the maze. The main character’s job was to eat up all the dots while staying away from the different colored ghosts.

Fast forward to 1982 and Namco introduced Ms. PAC-MAN to the world. Again, this game was something of an international success. However, this new game was a little harder than its predecessor. In addition to this, there were extra levels that needed to be played before the game could be completed.

The 1980s was an excellent time to be young, thanks to the wide range of exciting new video games on offer. More than 40 years later, kids are enjoying Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man almost as much as we once did.

Street Fighter II

Street Fighter originally arrived in 1987. This game was a hit and unlike any other out there. However, this game’s success was nothing compared to Street Fighter II. This version came out just four years later, in 1991, and was almost the best thing since sliced bread.

Those who played Street Fighter II when they were kids can now introduce their kids to the game. This is a slot machine that appears to be here to stay. Today’s youth is now playing this classic game and enjoying every moment. It’s safe to say that Street Fighter II will be one of the most-played games in any arcade and casino.

Online casinos

It’s not just land-based casinos that are making the most of our love for retro games – online casinos are now adding these games to their repertoire. Slot machines that offer players the chance to win money and prizes are becoming very popular. It makes sense then that online casinos do what they can to bring the masses in.

Many online casino games are pretty complicated. However, slot machines tend not to be, especially if they’re based on classic games. Players in their 30s and 40s want to experience the thrill of the games as they did in their youth. Today’s youth want to enjoy games that are relatively simple to play but also a lot of fun.

Retro games are here to stay

It’s safe to say that retro games are here to stay. Classics such as PAC-MAN and Street Fighter II are as popular as they were many years ago. Now we can all enjoy visiting casinos and arcades that offer us the chance to play these games once again. This can only be a good thing, as both of these games were made to be a lot of fun to play.

Let’s just hope the younger generation appreciates and adores these classic games as much as we once did. Chances are, all classic games will be around for many years to come.
