My Disney Dreamlight Character Wishlist Part 2

My Disney Dreamlight Character Wishlist Part 2

Now that Disney Dreamlight Valley is officially out, and the character I was most looking forward to is finally here — the Pumpkin King, of course — I say it's time to revisit another listicle of the top 10 characters I'm most excited to see! I kept my hopes low (and forgot a lot of my favourites) in the first list, so I won’t be holding back this time, Gameloft! Still, I was lucky enough to see two of my top three make it from last time: Jack Skellington and Sulley. So let's see which ones I'll get from this one. Starting with…

#10 — Bing Bong

BING BONG DDV

Although I haven't watched Inside Out more than maybe twice, it's one of those movies that really charms you with the cast! For a bunch of characters who are meant to embody emotions, they're very likeable and relatable. In fact, they're so delightful that I can easily see a lot of them fit right into the existing cast of Disney Dreamlight Valley, particularly Bing Bong, the imaginary friend! Just thinking of what silly quests he and Olaf would have together makes me feel all fuzzy inside.

#9 — Lilo

Lilo DDV2

As I mentioned in a previous article, ever since Disney Dreamlight Valley, I've been revisiting old movies I hadn't watched for decades! My feelings and points of view have changed a lot now that I'm an adult, and this happened with how I feel about Lilo, too! I am much more capable of understanding just how hard of a life she has and how adorable her little ohana is. So, you heard it here first, Gameloft — stop tearing their family apart and bring Lilo to Stitch!

#8 — Luisa

As a Colombian, it meant the world and beyond to me when Encanto came out! I live just about an hour away from the town that inspired it all, and it really has brought a sense of magic and wonder to it. Obviously, this means my wife (who is also Colombian) and I have watched the movie so many times we know the lyrics by memory, and one of the highlights is Luisa and her fantastic song, Surface Pressure. Although she might not bring super fun and nuanced quests, she'll still make the Valley feel even more like home!

#7 — Sally

I've been a "#1 fan" of A Nightmare Before Christmas since I was a child, and although this has never (and probably will never) changed, my feelings towards the characters and plot have. As a kid, I really liked Sally because of her aesthetic, but as an adult, I appreciate her as a character! I would love to see her make her way to Disney Dreamlight Valley to complete the feeling of home for Jack... who is absolutely never leaving my side again.

#6 — Kronk

It seems I've been repeatedly binging shows and movies my whole life, beginning with The Lion King back when I could barely speak and ending with The Avengers saga as an adult. Well, Kuzco and his movies and show were also a big part of my teens, and I think Kronk would make an absolutely hilarious asset to the current cast! He's lighthearted, silly, and a perfect candidate for a ton of shenanigans! Plus, I can’t think of a nicer villain than him.

#5 — Hercules

Whilst Hercules didn't go unnoticed, I remember loving it so much when I watched it again back in 2017 that I felt it was underrated! Hades is hilarious, Hercules is loveable, and Meg is a different approach to a Disney princess. The cast has a punch, and I think there's always space in the Valley for their synergy. I look forward to the day when we'll be running around solving the squabbles between Herc and his villain.

#4 — Flynn

We're finally arriving at the big three! Of course, one of my most anticipated characters has been Flynn ever since I saw the beauty in Tangled, thanks to my wife. He's hilarious, different, and adventurous — everything necessary to kickstart a great quest line and offer some phenomenal one-liners! Let's just hope his character's animation is a little bit better than Rapunzel's…

#3 — Kuzko

Like I said before, The Emperor’s New Groove’s cast is an absolutely fantastic one! It's not surprising to me that they quickly rose to some of the favourite movies of my generation. This is why I am at the edge of my seat for Kuzco's arrival — screw Baloo and Pluto! Give me my snarky emperor! Weirdly enough, he’s quite the mean hero… huh, I guess Kronk and him might’ve gotten confused.

#2 — Yzma

yzma

I hope Kuzco doesn't hate me too much, coming in third after Yzma, but let's be real... she would make some banger quests! I hope her villainous attitude and creative "problem-solving" will make her one of the main quest-givers in the Valley. I am prepared to pick flowers just to do some mischievous potions with her!

#1 — Oogie Boogie

oogie ddv

It seems I have a bit of a soft spot for villains, hm? But truth be told, both ends of the spectrum tend to bring the best quests to the Valley, such as Olaf and Mother Gothel. Oogie Boogie, however, also has the upside of being the villain of one of my favourite Disney movies! His song is hilarious, his attitude stylish, and just like Yzma, he's got some interesting ways to solve his problems. I aim to become the fourth (and best) member of the Boogie’s Boys!

That's it for the second part of my Disney Dreamlight Valley character wishlist! Truth be told, this is only the beginning. I went too soft on the first list, but now that I've revisited so many movies, I've got tons more demands!
