Nintendo E3 2011 Keynote Overview

The Nintendo press conference gave us a lot of insight into how Nintendo will look in the future from games to consoles themselves.

The biggest of all announcements was the new Wii U, Nintendo's newest home gaming system.

The first thing to be shown off at the confrence was Nintendo's incredible Orchestra, playing many well known Zelda tunes over a montage of the last 25 years of the Legend of Zelda. To celebrate the milestone, Nintendo announced a bunch of Zelda freebies and the new games too.

Although not fully complete, there were a whole bunch of Nintendo, first-party games announced for the 3DS that will be released in the next year.

New 3DS titles for 2011

As well as the first-party games, there was plenty of 3rd party titles too that were all in the works. Two Resident Evil title, Mario and Sonic at the 2012 Olympics, Ace Combat 3D, Tetris, Cave Story 3D, Driver: Renegade, Pac Man and Galaga Dimensions, Tekken 3D and Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater were the ones announced on stage.

The e-shop was touched upon quite well too, with Nintendo announcing many more titles to be released for the DSi and 3DS respectfully including many retro titles from the Nintendo Gameboy Colour and NES.

Another exciting annoucement in the form of a Pokédex now, a 3D one. Being a Pokémon fan myself I found this extremely facinating.

After teasing us with a Smash Bros. title on both the 3DS and Wii U it was all but over. This year will be a big year for Nintendo and although there was some confusion over the new console itself as opposed to the controller, once all the dust has settled and some specs have been released, the future will look clear and bright for Nintendo.
