GAME Officially In Administration

We've been following this as it happens as now, the GAME group plc. have officially gone into administration.

The GAME group plc. earlier today announced the following:

Further to our announcements of 21 March, the Board of GAME has completed its discussions with lenders and third parties without resolution, and has therefore today appointed PWC LLP to act as administrators for the Group. This decision is taken after careful consideration and ceaseless interrogation of every possible alternative. The Board would like to thank the teams of GAME and Gamestation colleagues around the world for their exemplary dedication, passion and professionalism.

Further more, they have taken both the GAME.co.uk and gamestation.co.uk websites down with slightly altering messages, as you can see below.

We have seen some less than favourable play from the GAME group plc. as of late but I think I speak for entire GameGrin staff when we wish the staff the best of luck.

Keep your eyes peeled on this space as we will report updates as they come in.

So, what does everybody think? Will they claw their way back and even if they do, will publishers trust them not to go under again to supply them with games?

No cheap games?

I think buying games in a "hard copy" format is in decline and will eventually be a thing of the past, they need a new business model to survive.
