Latest GTA Online Update Now Live For PlayStation 3

Since Grand Theft Auto Online's launch on Tuesday, the internet has been rife with reports of game-crashing glitches, horrendous lag and unplayable servers. The problems have been so bad that many gamers haven't even been able get in and start playing. But fear not - the first in a series of content patches has been released today to fix some of the errors.

Speaking on the matter, Rockstar Games today said, 'For PlayStation 3 users, a PlayStation Network server issue was detected that was limiting the amount of possible concurrent users. This was preventing most players from accessing GTA Online altogether and as of this morning, that problem was resolved.'

Note the specific mention of 'Playstation 3 users'? That's right, Rockstar hope to get the same update live for the Xbox 360 soon, but for now the patch is only working for PS3 users.

Rockstar has cited other problems it hopes to resolve in the coming days, such as an issue preventing people from completing the tutorial mission on both platforms, and instability in servers affecting even those who have.

The game's microtransaction system, GTA$ cash packs, has also been suspended until the game is running more smoothly. You can still earn GTA$ by performing Jobs and other profitable gameplay.

Rockstar insists that its staff are working hard to create a better gaming experience.

'All of these initial technical issues will be ironed out as soon as we can. Please know that the entire team here at Rockstar and all of our relevant partners are and will continue to be working around the clock to get the experience to be as smooth as possible, as soon as possible.'
