2K Brings Play-to-Win to Evolve with Companion App
With Turtle Rock Studios' AAA Evolve coming in less than two weeks, 2K have released a companion app to iOS and Android.
Evolve Hunters Quest features match-three gameplay across 100 levels, which helps to level up your characters in Evolve with Mastery Points.
There are in-app purchases, but these appear to be so you can purchase in-app weapons. The app is free to download, but it seems obvious that those who play more on Evolve Hunters Quest will do a little better in Evolve.
One of the more interesting aspects of the app is hidden in the description, and not down as one of the bullet points:
Enhance your Evolve skills by watching your multiplayer match replays from a strategic top-down view, and devouring intel in the Game Changer.
As it (and Evolve itself) links up to your 2K account, this can be used by anyone who doesn't even want to play the match-three aspect.

Technically a misnomer; The unlocks only do up to 50% of your requirement in masteries. The in-app purchases are just boosts, but usually the game favors you anyway with ridiculous combo capability, and you can always grind its RPG system in previous stages
