Check Out Coral Island's 2024 Roadmap!

Whether you fell in love with Coral Island back in its Early Access days or you are wondering if to jump into it now that it's released, you might be happy to hear Stairway Games released a 2024 roadmap! The developer also mentions that they've been paying close attention to feedback, as they want the game to really embody the vision they had for it. Anyone interested in helping out can give their opinion on their Discord, reddit, Steam forums, or their X account! Without further ado, let's dive into everything we can expect from the game in the upcoming updates.

Mixed together will be a ton of new features as well as improvements on already existing ones. Noted under the Update v1.1, we can find:

• Town Rank S Questline: players can now look forward to getting past Rank A into S! This works well for anyone who isn't quite ready to let go of their farm.
• New Town Rank: once the Town Rank A has been reached, the next (and new) one in line is Attractions! This means you'll need to build new attractions to benefit the townsfolk and attract new visitors. As a sneak peek, we got to see a new gym and a ramen shop!
• Rank S: players can look forward to unlocking the Museum Rank S and the Heritage Rank S now! The former will allow the ability to use projections to make the dinosaurs look alive again, and the latter will unlock a new quest.
• Tourist System: expect the town to be even livelier, as tourists will now visit the island weekly! This includes the ones from Backers. Aside from seeing them walk around, players will be able to chat with them... but no romancing will be available!
• Hangouts: get ready to spend a lot of time with your favourite NPCs, as the new feature allows players to invite them to eat ramen, go fishing, or even a movie night. Stairway Games mentions there will be more date options coming in the future, as well as a larger pool of eligible NPCs!
• More animals: welcome the buffalo and ostrich to your farm, which you'll be able to find at the Savannah!
• Customisation: new outfits and decorations are heading towards the game to allow players to shape their experiences further!
• Merfolk: although there isn't a lot of detailed information, Merfolk will be getting storylines, relationships, and romance!
• Improvements and updates: additionally, hats, wildlife, and the Pufferfish stalls will all be receiving tweaks!

That's quite the list! Although the blog doesn't state in-depth information about the upcoming things in update v1.2 and v1.3, this is what we can see:

Update v1.2:

• New spooky festival outfits for NPCs
• Merfolk festival
• Full-featured multiplayer

Update v.1.3:

• Slice of Life scenes batch 2
• Hangout and Dating mechanic v2

Additionally, there are a few incoming features listed for children, though it's not very clear or in-depth what it'll be!

• Children grow up
• Children portrait
• Children dialogue
• Children heart events
