Earth Defense Force 6 Will Deploy in North America and Europe Spring 2024

D3Publisher Inc. has announced the release of the latest entry in their bug-squashing series, EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam in Spring 2024, and Epic Games Store later. Set three years after humanity won the war against the unknown invaders known as "Primers," only 10% of the world's population lives. The survivors remaining attempting to rebuild, Primer colonies are still persistent in conquering the world — and they are increasing in size with each day.

The Earth Defense Force (EDF) must re-arm and protect the planet from the alien threats once again and identify the giant ring-shaped object that has recently appeared in the sky and what it means to the rest of humanity.

  • The Next Chapter of EDF: Following the events of Earth Defense Force 5 (released in 2017), players will go on an adventure in the next instalment of the EDF series.
  • Choose A Class: The Ranger, Air Raider, Wing Diver, and Fencer classes return better than ever. Packed with new abilities and equipment, players have an arsenal to go head-to-head with the toughest foes.
  • The Alien Threat: From giant ants to mechanical titans, the threat against Earth must be stopped before humanity falls to the invaders. Fight them either on the surface or underground in their colonies.
  • Missions Galore: Earth Defense Force 6 features countless new content, including hundreds of new missions and discoveries for players to occupy.
  • Battle with Friends: Navigate the battlefield with friends, either in two-player co-op/split-screen or in online battles with up to four players.

The announcement trailer contains a live-action news broadcast cut to gameplay and graphics, as well as the humour the series is known for (soldiers dancing while giant ants are attacking). Accompanying scenes of combat and environments players will experience, several disjointed voice lines play out, including a soldier getting a "juicy steak" that he will cook tomorrow, interjected by another voice saying, "I want to eat barbecued meat now!".

The trailer ends with the news network losing power before teasing new enemies players will be able to fight. So, take up the fight for the sake of humanity's future next Spring.
