Elden Ring Delays to February and Announces a Closed Network Test
Elden Ring has been delayed by a month, developer FromSoftware confirmed via Twitter earlier today. The game is now seeing a launch on 25th February 2022. The developer said that the game is seeing a delay because ‘the depth of the game and the degree of freedom in strategy exceeded the initial expectations’.

With the delay, the developer also announced a ‘Closed Network Test’ as ‘a pre-verification test for the completion of the commercial version of the game’. The network test is exclusive to consoles, however, with the option to play on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. It will also feature cross-play but only within the console family.
Elden Ring’s Closed Network Test will be playable throughout November 12-15 but with limited playtime. To join the test, you need to register on the Elden Ring Website before the 1st of November, and the 5 playtime sessions are:
- November 12: 11:00 to 14:00 BST
- November 13: 3:00 to 6:00 BST
- November 13: 19:00 to 22:00 BST
- November 14: 11:00 to 14:00 BST
- November 15: 3:00 to 6:00 BST
