Joe Cornish To Adapt Snow Crash

Joe Cornish (Attack The Block) has been selected by Paramount Pictures to write and direct the long gestating adaptation of Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash.

Released in 1992 the novel was an instant success, is considered one of the best examples of the cyberpunk genre, and has since gone on to appear in numerous 'top' lists including Time Magazine's '100 best English-language novels published since 1923'.

Plot of Snow Crash from Neal Stephenson's official site:

"In reality, Hiro Protagonist delivers pizza for Uncle Enzo’s CosaNostra Pizza Inc., but in the Metaverse he’s a warrior prince. Plunging headlong into the enigma of a new computer virus that’s striking down hackers everywhere, he races along the neon-lit streets on a search-and-destroy mission for the shadowy virtual villain threatening to bring about Infocalypse. Snow Crash is a mind-altering romp through a future America so bizarre, so outrageous...you'll recognize it immediately."
