Final Fantasy VII Coming to PS4

Final Fantasy VII was one of the first RPGs that many people played, let alone one of the first JRPGs. Its release across four CD's on the PlayStation was the biggest selling PS title of the time, and remains one of the series' highest selling titles ever.

Despite fans demanding a remake since the PlayStation 2, Square Enix have decided to re-release it instead, as they said at the PlayStation Experience this past weekend.

In Spring 2015, Final Fantasy VII will come to PS4, with all of the up-resolution graphics of the PC port.

Originally released in 1997, FFVII follows Cloud Strife as he attempts to stop his former mentor from destroying the world.

They won't release a full remake due to the fact they feel it would be a step back for the company, not that if they remade it, some people would buy a PS4 just for the game lol

too much demand for ff7 i think they are more worried a remake will flop for what ever reasons i do think the community should perhaps start asking for a ff6 or maybe a xenogears hell even secret of mana i do think that square is losing its magic maybe its mp is low i dunno on the plus side we got ff13-2 and we are all better for that too right guys...........oh ok nvm

Wasn't FFVI re-re-re-released on mobile last year?

@[752146718:Asuka Hikari] I'm agreeing - there's no reason they can't just put out the original over the PSN like they have for the PS3, rather than whatever this will be in 3-4 months time...

FFX was by the far best anyway. Don't believe to VII hype!

@[537776659:Andrew Acelister Duncan] It is better than the original, the texture files are updated and the audio is of better quality but that is about it lol. Its better than the origional PS1/3 release but nothing fantastic, still worth a buy in my opinion.
