Gaming Classic Lode Runner Returns on Steam Greenlight

Way back in 1983, before many of our readers were even born, Doug Smith created a legendary game. At the time, there was no way the late great developer could have predicted the success that the game would garner, but today Lode Runner considered to be one of the classics of the genre.

34 years later and Tozai Games are bringing the Lode Runner name back with a new title. Now on Steam Greenlight, Lode Runner Legacy is an updated version of the classic puzzle platformer, with a new voxel visual style and powerful editors that allow players to make the game their own.

"Lode Runner endures because its combination of action and puzzle-solving never goes out of style," says Scott Tsumura, co-founder of Tozai Games. "For this new edition, we've included a suite of game editors that allow players to customize to their hearts' content and create their 'one and only Lode Runner.' We hope longtime fans and new players support this updated edition of 'Lode Runner Legacy' on Greenlight"

The original Lode Runner is widely regarded as a classic.

In Lode Runner, players manipulate main character Runner to infiltrate the evil empire and recover stolen gold while avoiding enemies and minefields. That mix of puzzling and high-octane action is kept intact with Lode Runner Legacy, and brought to the next level with a new visual style and new levels.

Fans of the original will be please to know that all 150 levels from the original title have been updated into 3D as well. Playing in “Classic Mode” will allow you to experience these levels with a whole extra dimension.
