Go 8 Bit Returns to Screens, Now With DLC

Go 8 Bit Returns to Screens, Now With DLC

When UK TV channel Dave aired the retro videogaming show Go 8 Bit last year, they may well have been surprised by the popularity. With countless well produced shows about gaming failing to be a success, and gaming TV channel Ginx rebranding only last year, it didn’t look hopeful for the show.

Turns out though, that the show was something of a success. The wit of hosts Dara O’Briain and Ellie Gibson was a hit with fans, and not only has a second series been commissioned, but a spin-off show will also be shown

Go 8 Bit DLC will be hosted by Gibson, with celebrity guests popping in to air their views. It will be a mix of reviews, debates and history, and O’Briain will be on the show to discuss some of his favourite games each week.

In a statement to website British Comedy Guide, Ellie Gibson said: "I am very excited to be hosting Go 8 Bit DLC. I'm hoping it will offer an extended and enhanced user experience, so it's just like regular DLC, except we're not asking anyone to pay £7.99 for some new hats."

The second series of Go 8- Bit, and the first of Go 8 Bit DLC will both air in the UK on Dave on the 15th of May. We can expect to see appearances from plenty of famous names across the two shows, including Richard Osman, Robert Webb, Rhianna Pratchett, and James & Oliver Phelps of Harry Potter fame.
