New Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Trailer Unveiled

Capcom has debuted a new trailer for the highly anticipated expansion, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne today ahead of its E3’s debut. The upcoming expansion will be coming to the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One on 6th September 2019. A PC release will follow in the winter later this year.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will pick up the story from the end of Monster Hunter World. The players will once again be joining forces with the Research Commission to explore the undiscovered new land of Hoarfrost Reach. Capcom revealed that this will be the largest map in the game so far. Players and the Research Commission will journey across the waters to a new locale with a frigid climate covered in snow and ice to find the Legiana from the Ancient Forest. A new base camp in Hoarfrost Reach called Seliana can be seen in the latest trailer.

New monsters will be introduced as well as returning series favourites such as Tigrex, a frenetic creature familiar to fans of past Monster Hunter titles. Shrieking Legiana is a newly discovered extreme variant of Legiana from Monster Hunter: World and is covered in a white frost which it uses to freeze the air around it and ferociously attack hunters.

Players and fans attending E3 will get the first chance to play a demo of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne at the show. The demo will feature three different quests, all 14 weapon types, brand-new gameplay options such as new weapon combos and features, and Clutch Claw function for the Slinger. Quest choices include the Great Jagras quest from Monster Hunter: World for newcomers, the brand new horned brute wyvern Banbaro for an intermediate challenge or the returning series favourite Tigrex for the fiercest of hunters.

The Monster Hunter: World base game is required for Iceborne. Players will be able to enjoy some of the gameplay options such as the Slinger and weapon updates right away but they must have completed the main story through Hunter Rank 16 in order to access the new expansion story and quests.

Pre-order is available now for new or returning players on console either digitally or at participating retailers, with a special Yukumo Series layered armour set bonus exclusively for these early bird customers. For existing owners, the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion is available as digital DLC for $39.99 / €39.99. A Digital Deluxe version including both the expansion and a Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Deluxe Kit DLC of cosmetic items is $49.99 / €49.99. For newcomers, the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition containing both the main game and the Iceborne expansion is available to preorder at retail and will be available for purchase digitally at launch for $59.99 / €59.99. For European retail pricing please check with individual retailers.
