Star Citizen Surpasses $35,000,000 stretch goal

Space combat and exploration simulator Star Citizen just keeps surpassing all expectations. The crowd funded game from Cloud Imperium started with a campaign on Kickstarter and a simple belief.

The traditional publishers don't believe in PC or Space Sims. Venture Capitalists only want to back mobile or social gaming start ups.

We say they're wrong. We say that there is a large audience of PC gamers that want sophisticated games built for their platform. And inside this audience, a significant group of people that have always loved space games, and if given a quality one again will be happy to play it.

This belief has proved to be true a hundred fold as Star Citizen continues to raise funds on its website and has now surpassed $35 million in funding, unlocking the fan voted Drake Herald ship.

This achievement comes on top of news last week about the Dogfighting mode being delayed. Despite that disappointment it is clear that fans of the game are still out in force and this little idea could turn out to be one of the biggest games of it's type we have ever seen.
