The Shapeshifter for Game Boy: Kickstarter Campaign Earns Over 1000% of its Funding Goal
Developer GreenBoy Games is itself to keeping classic consoles like the Game Boy and Nintendo Entertainment System alive with all-new releases. Its upcoming title, The Shapeshifter, has blown past its €6000 funding goal on both Indiegogo and Kickstarter, earning €61,532 and €60,586 on each platform respectively.
The game, which sees young boy Elliot thrown into a magical world of elves and magic, will release in either late 2021 or early 2022. It will be available either as a physical release for the NES or Game Boy, or as a digital ROM.
Solo developer GreenBoy Games' other titles, also for the Game Boy, include Micro Doctor, Lunar Journey and Where is my Body? It exists to continue the tradition of cartridge-based gaming.
