X4: Foundations - Cradle of Humanity Expansion Released Alongside the Free 4.0 Update

Colossal changes are happening over in developer Egosoft's universe sandbox simulator X4: Foundations. Not only has the game's free 4.0 update released on PC—bringing terraforming, new hostile interactions, graphical effects and fleet control options—but a full paid expansion is now available too. Take a look at its appropriately epic launch trailer above.

Titled Cradle of Humanity, the pack expands the game's universe significantly, bringing players to Earth and introducing them to two Terran factions, complete with their own economy, ships, weapons and space stations. This new sector of space offers new missions and story content, as players discover how Earth's citizens have fared following the game's jump-gate shutdown. On top of that, Egosoft also teases the return of a certain pirate faction...
